CHANDIGARH, Nov 20: THE City police claim to have nabbed a Nigerian national involved in peddling narcotics in the City for the past few years and recovered 2.57 kg smack valued at over Rs 2.5 crore from his possession in Manimajra, last night.

Cyril Archbong alias Tony had been distributing smack to smaller peddlers after obtaining it from Delhi, police sources said. "He was earlier arrested by Patiala police and met one of the kingpins of smack distribution in north India in the jail. We came to know of the racket through addicts who were loitering in the area,” a police official said. He added that the accused, an MA in Economics, had settled in the City in 1991 and is married here. He has been booked under the Foriegner’s Act for want of documents,” it was added. The city police have booked Tony under the NDPS Act.
