Third seed Neha Uberoi from USA and No 5 Russia’s Nina Bratchikova were upset today in the on-going $25,000 NECC-ITF women’s tennis championship.

Neha was shown the door by unseeded Russian Alexendra Panova, 6-7 (2-7), 5-7.

And to compound that loss, Neha in the company of Silvia Disderi (Italy), the top seeds here, were knocked out by the Indonesian pair of Wynne Prakusya and Angelique Widjaja 1-6, 5-7. The sensational sixteen year old Uzbekistani qualifier Alexendra Kolesnichenko then ended Nina’s run 7-6 (8-6), 6-3.

Also moving into the quarter finals were India’s veteran players Rushmi Chakravarthy and No 8 Isha Lakhani. Rushmi defeated Parija Maloo 6-2, 6-4 while Isha stopped Sonal Phadke 6-3, 6-1.
