
NEW DELHI, AUG 11: The National Capital Region of Delhi will be divided into nine civil districts from August 16 to cater to all new litigations in the National Capital. The districts are central, North, North-West, West, South,South-West, East, North-East and New Delhi.
M A Khan, the senior-most district judge, will be incharge of the central district and will also be the administrative head of the staff of the subordinate courts. O P Dwivedi will be the district judge for North and North-West districts while R C Jain will be the district judge for West district. These judges will hold court at Tis Hazari.
Sharda Aggarwal will be the district judge for New Delhi, south Delhi and south-west Delhi districts and hold court at Patiala House. J P Singh will be in charge of east and north-east districts and hold court at Karkardooma Courts, Shahdra.
Meanwhile Additional District and Sessions Judge Sangeeta Dhingra Sehgal has been appointed the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate for the Union territory of Delhi in place of R K Gauba.
A Delhi High Court notification said all civil suits, applications, revisions and appeals may be presented to competent courts district-wise from August 16. All old civil cases prior to the division of NCR Delhi into nine districts will continue to be heard at Tis Hazari, the notification added. All courts of industrial tribunals and labour courts at present functioning at Tis Hazari shall function from Karkardooma courts from August 16.
