BHOPAL, OCT 27: The stage is set here for the opening of the three-day 39th National Athletic Championship at the TT Nagar Stadium tomorrow.
The championship organising secretary, Dr Suresh Sharma said around 600 athletes will take part in the meet. He added their performance would be the basis for selection of athletes for the next year8217;s Olympics at Sydney.
Athletes who would take part in the championship include Shakti Singh, Anil Mathew, Prabhjot Singh, Gulab Chand, Vikram Singh and Bahadur Prasad while the female contingent would be led by PT Usha, Sunita Rani, Madhuri Singh, Paramjit Kaur, Gurmeet Kaur and Rachita Mistry.
