Name gets band out of I-Day concert

A rock music band named ‘‘Moist Vagina’’ but later renamed ‘‘Chaos Theory’’ has been debarred from performing at the annual Independence Rock concert today.

Organiser Farhad K. Wadia said the band was removed because he did not wish to hurt the sentiments of citizens who objected to its name. ‘‘We apologise to all those who have been offended. Please accept the retraction and a sincere apology,’’ he said. But the furore over the name is far from over. Several people called The Indian Express to express their disgust. Congress Corporator from Colaba Vinod Shekhar and youth wing secretary of the Citizens’ Organisation for Public Opinion, Vineet Kanchan, have sent letters of complaint to the Azad Maidan police station.
