Nair tenders a Chhotisi apology to High Court

Ek Chhotisi Love Story producer Shashilal Nair today apologised to the Bombay High Court for approaching Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray to settle his dispute with actress Manisha Koirala over his film.

Nair tendered an ‘‘unconditional, unqualified and unjustified apology’’ to the division bench hearing suo motu contempt notices against the duo for approaching the Sena chief to sort out a matter sub-judice. But the bench refused to accept it in Manisha’s absence.

Manisha’s advocate V.A. Thorat informed the court that his client had fractured her hip-bone and had been advised bed-rest for four weeks. The bench directed her affidavit to be filed by October 10. It granted personal exemption both to Nair and Manisha at the next hearing on October 17.
