PARWANOO, July 21: The Nagar Panchayat of Parwanoo Township, is all geared up for the heavy monsoon expected this year. A special task force has been created in various sectors of the town to do the work at a rapid pace. This force has started cleaning and repairing drains and removing Congress grass in all the sectors of the town.
N.L. Walia, president of the Nagar panchayat told ENS that a special meeting of the Nagar Panchayat was held here on Monday to discuss the preventive measures that were to be taken for the monsoons and the damage which took place during the flash flood on July 10. The loss has been estimated to Rs. 70 lakh.
According to Walia a lot of development has taken place in Parwanoo since the past two years. This includes repair of roads and provision of dustbins.
Walia added that a permanent secretary, M.L. Ansari had been posted in Parwanoo, who has made special efforts to complete the work on time.
The Nagar Panchayat has also started distributing chlorine tablets to the residents of the town, specially in the slums. Walia added that the Panchayat had contacted the Chief Medical Officer, Solan to depute the Health Officer or the Food Inspector who would check the sale of unhygienic food in the town.
