The soundtrack of Boom, the Bollywood flick where underworld meets fashion industry, may have topped charts, but there’s trouble brewing.

Abhijit Pohankar, eminent classical instrumentalist and son of well-known vocalist Pandit Ajay Pohankar, has laid claim to the title track on the film as its co-composer. But his name is nowhere listed among the album credits. The album opens with Boom, with credits to Talvin Singh featuring Ila Arun, and ends with a remix version by Dat Guy.

‘‘I don’t know what happened. Talvinbhai is a great friend of mine,’’ says Pohankar. ‘‘I did the co-composition and played the keys on Boom while Talvin remixed them.’’

Pohankar even rattles off the date and venue of Boom’s birth: April 16 and 17, 2002, at Purple Haze Studio, Bandra. Producer Ayesha Shroff says she isn’t even aware of this. ‘‘All I know is that I commissioned Talvin and he did two tracks for me on the album,’’ she says.
