Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf is a former agent of the ISI and Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb, is a member of the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) group, claims French author Bernard Henry Levy.

According to The Daily Times, Levy told an interviewer in London that Khan joined LeT when it was newly-formed. He said former ISI chief General Hamid Gul is one of the shadow powers in Pakistan. He said Khan had initially agreed to meet him, but called off the meeting because he was told not to do so. Levy believes Omar Sheikh, who was sentenced to death for the murder of WSJ reporter Daniel Pearl, was recruited by the ISI in London. When asked whether Omar had committed the crime on his own or at some one’s behest, he said: ‘‘This is impossible for me to assess now.’’
