A Pratapgarh court today ordered framing of charges against Uttar Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya for conspiring the murder of a key witness against him, while he was behind bars last February.

Raja Bhaiyya’s father Uday Pratap Singh, Samajwadi Party MP from Pratapgarh Akshay Pratap Singh and two others have also been named in the case. The accused were present in the court today. The matter has been posted for October 12.

Rajendra Yadav, the pradhan of Banamau village in Konda, was shot dead on February 4 last year by two men. The assailants fled on a motorcycle. The victim’s father, Badhranath, identified the killers as Raja Bhaiyya’s gang members. The FIR alleged Raja Bhaiyya got Yadav killed while he was serving sentence after being charged under POTA.
