Stained glass exhibition

A solo exhibition of stained glass paintings will be held by Sandhya Prasad at Cymroza Art Gallery, Bhulabhai Desai Road, between Monday and Wednesday. The three-day exhibition will showcase of lamps, panels, table tops, windows and screens will be open between 10 am and 7 pm.

WWF-India nature camp

7-yr-old climber felicitated

As part of the New Generation Month8217; celebration, Rotary Club of Mumbai Downtown felicitated seven-year-old Saiyam R Rangnekar for having scaled the 21,000-feet-high Rudragaira peak of the Himalayas. The month of September has been dedicated to the new generation by Rotary International.

Rotary Club of North Island and Colgate IngaLaboratories Limited will jointly organise a camp for free medical dental and allied ear-nose-throat check-up, checks for 2,000 children of the municipal school at Hasnabad lane, Santacruz West on September 15 and 16 between 9.30 am to 4 pm.

Dadar Ganesh Mandal gets award

The Sadakant Dhavan Saarvajanik Ganesh Mandal at Dadar won the best mandal award instituted by IN Mumbai channel. Naveen Shetty of the mandal received the award from Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde. The mandal had recreated the home of Lord Shankar among the Himalayas as the backdrop for the deity. Following a suggestion by the channel chief, Munde said the government would look into holding such festivals on the lines of Ganeshotsavs in Pune.

Workshop on AIDS

The Asia Training Centre of Ageing Chiang-Mai University, Thailand, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Committed Communities Development Trust and Help Age India will organise a workshop on the Impact of HIV/AIDS on older people8217; from September 14 to18. The workshop will assess the impact of the disease on the aged.

Film writer passes away

Noted writer, film producer and director Tej Nath Zar died at 72 of a heart attack on Thursday night. Zar had been complaining of pain for the last four days, but he ignored it, said family sources. However, on Thursday, he was rushed to hospital when the pain became unbearable, where he died of a heart attack before medication could be administered.
