
Kerosene seized
The Flying Squad of the Rationing department today seized 420 litres of blue dye kerosene meant for supply on public distribution system which was being decanted illegally. The tanker belonged to kerosene agent M/s Bharati Kerosene Agency. The blue dye kerosene was illegally decanted in authorised rationing shop no 44E110 at Mankhurd, Chiku Wadi, Govandi. The shopkeeper Ramniklal Hirji Gala and tanker driver Omprakash Jaiswal have been arrested by the crime branch control police. The raid was conducted by Assistant Rationing officer Ashok Kadam.
HSC Board reconstituted
The state government has restructured the Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and has appointed Vijay Patil as its new chairperson.
Apart from 17 ex-officio members of the board, the government has also appointed 25 other members from across the state who are active in the field of education. They include school teachers and professors as well as members of the management ofdifferent educational institutions. The Mumbai division of the Board has also been restructured with S A H Abidi being appointed as the new chairperson. There will be six ex-officio members of the division while ten new appointments have also been made.
