Stamp designing contest

An on-the-spot stamp designing competition for school children is being organised by the Department of Posts in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Goa with the themes of India in Space, 2025 AD8217; and If you were to design a stamp, what subject would you choose?8217; Winning entries will be given cash awards of Rs 1,500, Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 for children from 12 to 18 and for children upto 12 junior level, Rs 1,000, Rs 500 and Rs 250.

The competition will be held from 11 am to 12.30 pm on October 3 at Kabibai Hansraj Morarji Charitable Trust High School, 26 Bora Bazar. Course in Hermeneutics

K J Somaiya Bharatiya Sanskriti Peetham has announced acourse in Hermeneutics and the comparative study of Hinduism amp; Christianity from September 27. Professor Hans J Findeis, Faculty of Catholic Theology, University of Bonn, Germany will conduct the course in collaboration with K J Somaiya Bharatiya Sanskriti Peetham. Lectures will be conducted on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Indian Express staffer retires

Vishwanath K Nair, Asst. Supervisor, NPBS Building Maintenance Department retired from the Indian Express on September 19. He had joined on October 25, 1971. He was felicitated by staff from Nariman Point Bldg. Services. Mr Deepak Bagav, Chief Manager, HRD amp; Administration, Mr S Prasad, Manager, HRD, Mr A Raut, Executive Engineer and all colleagues.

Award for leprologist

The Indian Association of Leprologists has honoured Dr A R K Pillai, president, IndianLeprosy Foundation with an Award of Excellence8217; for his work in the field of leprosy. The award was presented to Dr Pillai by Dr N K Ganguly, chairman, Indian Council of Medical Research at the Biennial Conference of Leprologists, Chandigarh on September 18 in which 300 leprologists from all over India participated.
