Hosts Himachal Pradesh were struggling to avoid an outright defeat against holders Mumbai on the third day of their four-day Ranji Trophy Super League encounter.

Forced to follow on, Himachal ended the day at 236 for five in their second knock, a lead of just 80 runs. Paras Dogra on 50 and Ajay Manu with 42 were at the crease at stumps.

Earlier, Himachal managed 214 in reply to the visitors’ score of 370. Pacer Murtaza Hussain claimed six wickets for Mumbai.

Saurashtra win

In Nagothane, Saurashtra whipped hosts Maharashtra by eight wickets in their Group A Super League.
