If the efforts of a Mumbai based Bhojpuri film producer, Sudhakar Pandey bear fruit, the silver screen will soon have CM Mulayam Singh Yadav and his Cabinet minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh aka Raja Bhaiyya display their acting talents in a love story. The film Chalat Musafir Moh Liyo Re has Mulayam and Raja Bhaiyya as the ‘‘star cast’’ among others.

Reluctant to part with explicit details of the roles Pandey has carved for these two ‘‘VIPs’’, he said both the politicians’ roles will be positive and giving the right message to the society. Despite Pandey’s efforts to keep these ministers’ involvement a closely guarded secret, sources close to Raja Bhaiyya claimed that the Cabinet minister had agreed to play the role after being informed of it being a positive one. Pandey and Raja Bhaiyya’s long-standing acquaintance could be another reason for the latter’s assent, said sources.

The film is a love story of a Dalit girl and an upper caste boy who finally get married despite all odds. The climax has the boy getting rewarded by the CM played by none other than Mulayam. ‘‘It will also have a two-minute speech by the CM on equality in the society. I have heard a lot about Mulayam Singh Yadav’s efforts to lessen the caste gap in the society,’’ said Pandey whose last film Sasura Bada Paise Wala was a hit. To be directed by Vishal Verma, the lead roles will be played by a girl from Assam and a boy from Bihar. The film will be shot in the eastern districts of UP namely Basti, Bahraich and Gorakhpur. Pandey hopes to release this venture by Diwali this year.
