VADODARA, Aug 12: Teachers of various faculties of the M S University will take out a rally on Thursday from the Faculty of Home Science to press for their pending demands, even as the nation-wide strike entered the second day today.
The protesting teachers will walk till the University Office and submit a memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Padma Ramchandran. The memorandum would later be forwarded to the government.
Talking to Express Newsline, General Secretary of the Baroda University Teachers Association Nikhil Desai said, most of the teachers were aware of their pending rights and would continue the stir till their demands were fulfilled.
While admitting that the strike was affecting classes, he said an indefinite strike was the last resort as despite several representations, the government had failed to take notice.
He said a memorandum was submitted to the government, followed by a demonstration in front of the Parliament, but in vain.
Meanwhile, the university wore a deserted look on Wednesday as even the Baroda University Staff Association has extended its support to the strike.
