NOIDA, April 11: The minority BJP government of Uttar Pradesh is not only under pressure from its alliance partners but also the local party leaders on the issue of transfer of officers. The local MP, Ashok Pradhan, MLA Nawab Singh Nagar and the district party chief of the BJP, Rakesh Raghav, have demanded the transfer of most of the officers currently posted in district Gautam Buddha Nagar.
The district unit of the party has sent a list of 12 officers to the Chief Minister, saying they are incompetent and should, therefore, be replaced.
The list includes names of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Noida, N.A. Vishwanathan; Chairman-CEO of Greater Noida, T. George Joseph; District Magistrate (DM) Manoj Kumar Singh; Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Daljeet Singh Chaudhary; ADM (Finance) Lalji Prasad; city Magistrate Kahajan Singh; SP (city) Ganesh Singh Martolia; Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Deepam Seth and SP (Rural Area) Ashok Kumar.
Talking to The Indian Express, the GeneralSecretary of the district (rural) unit of the party, Rakesh Raghav, explained the reasons behind the transfer recommendations. According to him, DM Manoj Kumar Singh did not permit vehicular movement in the district on polling day during the Parliamentary elections due to which BJP supporters could not cast their votes. When MP Ashok Pradhan tried to contact the DM and SSP, they reportedly did not come on the line.
Explaining the cause for the recommendation against SSP Daljeet Chaudhary, Raghav said a BJP activist was named in a case of dacoity in Dankaur area.
