A Kerala-based organization has promised to give Rs 10,000 aid to Monica Besra of West Bengal, whose reported ‘miraculous cure’ from cancer was instrumental in Mother Teresa’s beatification.

Besra, a few days ago, had accused the Missionaries of Charity of abandoning her to a life of penury.

Besra, who lives at Dangram in West Bengal, had said that the nuns of the Missionaries of Charity had frequented her home before the beatification of the mother. However, after that, they have forgotten her, she alleged.
