
NAIROBI, OCTOBER 8: A visibly pleased Pakistan skipper Moin Khan lauded the all-round performance of his team after they handed out a crushing nine-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka in a quater-final match in the ICC knock-out cricket tournament here on Sunday.
8220;The boys played very well. They fielded well and the bowlers did a good job,8221; Moin Khan said.
The Pakistani skipper was all praises for Wasim Akram, who took three wickets including that of Sanath Jayasuriya, and Man-of-the-Match Saeed Anwar, who scored an undefeated 105. 8220;He Akram is a great bowler,quot; he added.
Saeed Anwar, who completed 18th One-Day century to take second spot behind Sachin Tendulkar 25, said he was looking forward to this century. 8220;I was out for quite some time due to injury but I have recuperated now,8221; he said.
About Pakistan8217;s performance, he said they struggled with the fielding initially due to lay-off following Asia Cup in Dhaka.
A dejected Sri Lankan skipper Sanath Jayasuriya admitted his team put in a disappointing performance. 8220;We lost wickets at regular intervals and never recovered from the setbacks,8221; he said.
He gave due credit to the flawless Pakistan team.
