SAS NAGAR, Nov 25: The second relief consignment for the cyclone-hit victims in Orissa was dispatched from the township here today.
S.A.S Nagar Sub-Divisonal-Magistrate O.P.Popli flagged two trucks carring the relief material for Ludhiana, from where a special train carring relief from all over the state will be flagged off.
The relief material contained clothes, footwear, utensils, besides wheat, rice, pulses and tarpals. Popli said Baba Doanwale, Indu Sehgal, counsellor and the Mohali Industries Association have contributed to great extent in collecting the relief material.
ABVP call for relief
Chandigarh: The Punjab University unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has started a campaign in the campus to collect donations for the cyclone victims in Orissa.
ABVP campus secretary Harinder Bir Singh in a statement said that activists covered the Arts blocks today and would be carrying out a similar exercise in the Science departments tomorrow. The funds would be sent to the Prime Minister8217;s Relief Fund.
