Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Gaurav Yatra is not off. It is only getting a new name: Campaign Yatra. BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley said: ‘‘We will call it Campaign Yatra now. We see no reason to call it off.’’

One held for hate mail

Jaitley ruled out any tie-up with other parties in the polls. He said the BJP had asked its district units to give their recommendations on the allotment of tickets to the state election committee.

Jaitley said that the BJP has decided to focus on the party’s ‘‘achievements’’ on water supply, the inflow of the Narmada water and a string of check dams built by former chief minister Keshubhai Patel.

Regarding the Congress, Jaitley said it calls itself as a secular outfit with state unit chief Shankarsinh Vaghela calling himself Shankarullah. “But it has also pasted posters all over Gujarat identifying itself with Hindus,” he said.
