It was a regular car accident until Salman Khan showed up. A speeding Mitsubishi Lancer turned turtle outside the actor’s apartment block on the seafront at Carter Road in Mumbai on Wednesday night. ‘‘On hearing the loud sound, the residents of Galaxy Apartment, including Salman Khan, immediately rushed down and along with a constable helped pick up the three victims and rush them to Bhabha Hospital,’’ said Deputy Commissioner of Police Bipin Kumar Singh.

Incidentally, the accident spot was just a few metres from where the actor had allegedly rammed his Lancer in September 2002, killing a man sleeping on the footpath.

According to the police, there were three persons in the car, including the driver. The car was moving at a high speed, and just outside Galaxy Apartments, the building where Salman Khan resides, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car turned upside down, police said. One person died and two were injured in the accident.

The deceased has been identified as Azhar Ibrahim Darvesh (18).
