West Bengal Transport Minister Subhash Chakraborty today spoke out against Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and Health Minister Dr Surya Kanta Mishra over the recent incidents of deaths due to alleged negligence and mismanagement at the state-government run hospitals.

Speaking to a TV channel, Chakraborty said: ‘‘The punishment meted out to the SSKM hospital staff for negligence which led to the death of Sushmita Biswas was not enough and at par with the offence.’’

He went ahead to term transfers of hospital superintendent, his deputy and others as a ‘‘routine exercise.’’
