Five days after 14 babies died in 48 hours at the B.C. Roy Children Memorial Hospital in Kolkata, State Health Secretary Asim Burman today told mediapersons in strong terms not to visit the B.C. Roy Children Memorial Hospital. ‘‘Mediapersons should visit the hospital only when they fall sick. They have only added to the problems,’’ Burman said when asked why the hospital has been cordoned off. ‘‘Mediapersons are disturbing everybody by taking photographs and questioning patients’ relatives.’’

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today demanded the arrest of CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, alleging 26 children had perished in the last five days in another hospital, the city’s oldest,Calcutta Medical College.
