After district co-operative banks in Pune, Nagpur, Osmanabad and Wardha and countless investors, it’s the turn of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan to pipe up and ask the scam-tainted Home Trade portal to pay him his dues.
Hrithik, along with Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar, had helped beam Home Trade’s ‘Because Life Means More’ launch campaign into living rooms. Hrithik has sent a fax to the portal’s Pune office, reminding it of the instalment of Rs 65,00,000 owed to him.
Sources close to Hrithik admitted that Home Trade owed him money, but they would not disclose the amount. The fax had landed at the Home Trade office at 124 Sohrab Hall, 121 Sassoon Road, Pune 411001 on March 7, 2002.
‘‘You are aware that in terms of our agreement dated November 12, 2001, the installment of Rs 65,00,000/- which was due on February 28, 2002 has not yet been received by me despite several reminders. Kindly look into the matter immediately and send your DD per return,’’ states the letter, which is signed on behalf of Hrithik with a copy to a certain Reshma.
Adfactors, the PR company that handled Home Trade’s account, washed their hands of the brokerage firm, saying they had stopped dealing with Home Trade more than a month ago.
