CHENNAI, AUG 3: A four-member Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MDMK team led by its general secretary Vaiko held inconclusive discussions with the DMK leadership on sharing of seats in Tamil Nadu for the Lok Sabha elections.

After an hour-long confabulation, Vaiko told media persons this evening that the parleys with DMK chief M Karunanidhi and other DMK team members were cordial and friendly8217;. Talks were continuing, he said but declined to give any details on the nature and outcome.

Vaiko said he was hopeful of an agreement being reached as early as possible. The next round of talks would be held as and when the MDMK got an invitation.

He denied rumours that there were differences8217; between the DMK and MDMK over seat-sharing,

Asked whether he was disappointed with today8217;s talks, he replied in the negative.

Meanwhile, the MDMK has called for an emergency meeting of the party tomorrow to discuss poll-related matters.
