Manmohan, Sonia condole Sharma’s death

PM Manmohan Singh said Delhi Police officer M C Sharma had shown exceptional courage.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday said Delhi Police officer M C Sharma, who died after sustaining injuries during an encounter with terrorists had shown exceptional courage and was an inspiration for the security forces.

The PM condoled the death of Sharma, an officer with the Delhi Police special cell.

“He has shown exceptional courage and is an inspiration for our security forces,” he added.

Sonia Gandhi expresses distress over policeman’s death

Congress president Sonia Gandhi expressed deep distress over the death of Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma of Delhi Police, who succumbed to injuries during an operation against terrorists in New Delhi.

In a condolence message she said that Sharma battled with the terrorists valiantly and sacrificed his life in the service of the country.

“Our battle against terrorism will continue with full resolve,” she said.
