In a quirk of fate, a 40-year-old man who got a government job in place of his deceased wife collapsed and died on the first day in office at Vizhinjam near Thiruvananthapuram.Raju got the peon's job in Harbour Engineering Office under dying-in-harness scheme in place of his wife Vimala who died two years ago while in service in the same department.On his first day in office, Raju got exhausted and collapsed on his way to a restaurant close to the office for lunch, office source said.The couple had no children.
