
A labourer from Uttar Pradesh was found murdered near police lines on Friday morning.
The victim, aged around 35, was identified as Jhhagdu Prasad alias Gajjar. He hailed from UP. Police said six persons have been rounded up for interrogation. These are Ram Dhiraj, Mukesh, Ganesh, Rampal, Chhotu and Kanhaiya.
Five of them used to stay with the victim at the HPCA stadium. The victim had been working here for two-and-a-half months, and had come back from home only recently, after being with his family for Diwali. He was married.
SSP Atul Fulzele said that police have registered a case of murder. Jhhagdu Prasad was working as a labourer at the stadium, where construction work is on.
Police got information about the murder at about 7.30 am. SHO Rajiv Attre reached the spot with his team and started investigation. The body was lying in a pool of blood. Police have recovered a can of kerosene, and half a bottle of country-made liquor from the spot.
