Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik got a thumbs up from his coach Geoff Lawson who said the youngster was ‘getting better as a captain with every game’.

Lawson said both India and Pakistan have two young captains and they needed to be given some time to mature in their roles.

“M S Dhoni and Malik are young guys and they have a bright future ahead. As for Malik, he is getting better with every game. He is a sharp guy and a fast learner”, Lawson said.

The Australian, however, warned against putting the duo under the pressure of expectations.

“Cricket followers should just sit back and enjoy what these two young cricketers have to offer to the game,” he said.

Asked specifically whether Dhoni should be made the captain of the Indian Test team as well, Lawson said, “I have no idea how Dhoni will handle Test captaincy. I have not seen him much as a captain, so I can’t really say”.
