MUMBAI, APRIL 28: In view of the Maharashtra Day celebrations and the dress rehearsal of the parade, the traffic department has announced restrictions on vehicular movements on April 29, 1999.

Vehicular traffic will be closed on Keluskar Road (main) from L J Road (Gadkari Chowk) to its junction with Keluskar Road (south and north). Keluskar Road (north) will be closed for vehicular traffic from its junction with Keluskar Road (main) to its junction with Shivaji Park Road No. 2.

Keluskar Road (south) will be one way from its junction with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Marg (Cadell Road) to its junction with Keluskar Road (main) i.e. entry from Swatantra Veer Savarkar Marg. Keluskar Road (north) will be one way from its junction with Shivaji Park Road No 2 to its junction with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Marg (Cadell Road) i.e. no entry from Swatantrya Veer Sawarkar Marg.

Parking of vehicles will not be permitted between 6 am till 12 pm on the following roads: Keluskar Road (main), Keluskar Road (south) andKeluskar Road (north). Eastern side of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Marg (Cadell Road) from Mahim junction to its junction with Ranade Road. Shivaji Park Road No.2 and Lt. Dilip Gupte Marg.

The following roads will be closed for parade march which would proceed along Keluskar Road (north), Keluskar Road (main), Gadkari Chowk, Gokhale Road (north), Gokhale Road (South), Sayani Road, Elphinstone Bridge, Jerbai Wadia Road, Mane Master Chowk, G D Ambekar Marg to Naigaum ground. Motorists have been advised to avoid these roads between 8 am and 12 pm.

Invitees from South and Central Mumbai proceedng via Tilak Bridge may approach Shivaji Park via N C Kelkar Road, Gadkari Chowk, Lady Jamshedji Road, Road No. 2, Keluskar Road (North), Veer Sawarkar Marg (Cadell Road), Keluskar Road (south) to Shivaji Park ground.

Those from South Mumbai may use Peddar Road, Dr Annie Besant Road and approach the parade road via Veer Sawarkar Marg, Keluskar Road (south) to Shivaji Park. While invitees from Western suburbs may proceedvia Lady Jamshedji Road, Raja Badhe Chowk, Shivaji Park Road No 12, Keluskar Road (north), Veer Savarkar Marg, Keluskar Road (south) on to Shivaji Park.

Sufficient number of traffic personnel will be posted and sign boards placed to guide road users, a press note stated.
