Government Railway Police arrested the station master of Mahalaxmi Railway Station in Central Mumbai, Gopalan Ashokan, this evening in connection with the death of assistant director Nadia Khan.

Ashokan was arrested by the Mumbai Central Station unit of the GRP and will be released on bail, police sources said. He will be booked for connivance, since the station master did not report the accident to police, though he was on duty on May 25 when Nadia was hit by a train.

Ashokan had been granted anticipatory bail and a local court had warned to cancel it if he did not appear before the GRP for questioning. Ashokan preferred to present himself to the GRP this afternoon, the sources said.

Nadia, a British national, was assisting Gustad in his production Mumbai Central at Mahalaxmi when she was hit by a suburban local train.
