AHMEDABAD, Oct 19: In a high drama of filmy style lost and found, Reshmaben Husenbhai Shaikh, had her new-born daughter missing in the city on coming from Rajkot, only to find her back four days later.

Reshmaben, 26, a resident of Rajkot, lost her new-born baby near Shardaben Hospital on October 9, when she came to the city for treatment of some gynecological problem. Fortunately after four days, Reshmaben found her baby back.

Reshmaben developed some gynecological problems after delivery on September 30. On doctor’s advice, she came to Shardaben hospital in the city on October 9 on a shared autorickshaw. She gave her baby to a woman, sitting in the same rickshaw and went to a nearby shop to get a change of Rs 100. But when she returned, she did not find her daughter or the woman.

Reshmaben searched for few hours but not been able to find her, she returned to Rajkot. She had no relatives in the city to help her out. On the next day she came back to the city in search of her daughter and inquired in the hospital.

Meanwhile, hospital authorities informed Shaher Kotda police that an unclaimed baby was lying in front of the orthopedic ward of the hospital. Police recovered the baby and on inquiry initiated process to hand over the baby.
