Lean management congress held

The second edition of Lean management congress was held in the city on November 17 and 18 at Hotel Aurora Towers.

The second edition of Lean management congress was held in the city on November 17 and 18 at Hotel Aurora Towers .The industrial initiatives was organised by Excellence Learning Centre ,Pune. The theme of Lean management congress-2008 was Lean supply chain management for competative edge. The two-day seminar focused on Lean management initiatives , practices and success stories in our country and benefits of lean management in supply chain functions for today’s competitive markets demanding cost reduction and efficiency improvement .

An annual Lean Management Guru Award was instituted at the event and was conferred to Shriniwas Gondhalekar, director, Kanzen Institute of Asia-Pacific Pvt Ltd . S Gondhalekar is BTech in chemical engineering from IIT Mumbai and post graduate in Industrial engineering from NITIE . He has consulted in 20 developing and developed countries like Switzerland, Brazil, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonasia and New Zealand . The award was haded over by Arvind Navdikar , founder director, Excellence learning Centre .

The speakers included Uttam Khobragade,General Manager , BEST , Hemant Tambade , Manager Purchase projects, Bosch Ltd Nashik , Shekhar Karanjikar Supply chain management manager , Mahindra and Mahindra ltd Nashik , Yogesh Vaghani Director Miltan Platics and chairman, Nagar Road Industries Chambers of Commerce and Agriculture, P Prabhakar manager, Whirpool of India ltd ,Milind Kulkarni chief manager Supply Chain Kansai Nerolac Paints ltd , Shriniwas Rairikar, senior director,Mahratta Chambers of Commerce,Industries and Agriculture.
