MUMBAI, OCT 5: United Friends’ are the Kanga League C Division champions. They had 43 points at the start of the day and none of their rivals could come close to them.

Sind earned promotion from D Division to C with brilliant performance coming frm Ashok Kulkarni and Vidyadhar Kambli.

Kulkarni, pushing 50, claimed 6-9 while Vidyadhar, brother of Test cricketer Vinod, scored 71 runs and took three catches. Sind bundled Catholic Gymkhana for 21. Wellington won the D Division title. Dadar Parsi were second while Sind were third.

Hitesh Popat had the best haul of the day — 8 for 17 — for Parkophene who beat Shri Shivaji.

Shekhar Singh rattled off 93 with six sixes and eight fours and claimed three wickets for Sunrise against Mandvi Muslims in the drawn match in the E’ Division. BRD, Sunrise and Maskati are headed for promotion.

The top two teams in the F’ Division, Young Men’s Vasai (44) and Elphinstone (33), drew with each other but third-placed Borivli won against United CC to grab the No. 2 spotand earn promotion.

Shailesh Jadhav helped Canara Vijay rout Super Star for 70 with a haul of eight for 20 in the G’ Division. Aarey swamped Merry Youngsters by an innings and 31 runs thanks to Dashrath Sankhe and Kirit Patel.
