AHMEDABAD, Aug 8: Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel on Sunday kick-started his campaign for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections by addressing a rally at Nadiad.

Keshubhai also inaugurated the office of the BJP candidate for Anand. Earlier, addressing the Youth rally in Nadiad, the Chief Minister said that the Congress has been involved in rampant corruption.

He said the Congress, during its 50 years of rule in the country, has led the country to poverty and unemployment. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party Government led by Atal Behari Vajpayee has, in its one-and-half-year tenure carried out nuclear tests and has been successful in pushing back the infiltrators from the Indian side. He also blamed the Congress for the fall of Vajpayee Government.

In Karmasad, Patel said that the BJP has honoured Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with the recognition he deserved. He said that after 50 years of Independence, the BJP got the statue of Sardar Patel installed in the Lok Sabha.
