Kerala athletes on top

Shejil Verghese and Jithin Paul of Kerala were named best athletes in under-20 and under-18 boys groups, respectively, on the final day of the 19th inter-zonal athletics championships in Guntur.

According to information reaching here, the best athlete titles in the under-16 and under-14 divisions went to Amiya Malik from Orissa and P Donaldo (TN).

In the girls’ section, West Bengal athletes Tanzila Khatun and Kalyani Sikdar walked away with best athlete titles in U-16 and U-14 group, respectively. Harithi from Andhra Pradesh and Gayathry from Tamil Nadu were declared best athletes in U-20 and U-18 sections.
