Maharashtra draw with Orissa
Pune: Maharashtra seem to lack the killer instinct on the concluding day of their Ranji Trophy tie against Orissa at the Poona Club grounds today.
Despite the home advantage, they displayed a laid-back attitude, similar to the one in the previous match against Delhi, choosingto retire with five points.
They allowed the last four Orissa batsmen to score 194 runs, leaving them a stiff target of 274 in 33 overs. They managed 76 for four wickets. Ranjan Parida anchored Orissa with an unbeaten 95 (294m, 193b, 13×4).
“We could have gone for the maximum, but nothing seems to be going our way,” said Maharashtra coach Shyam Oak, very much aware off his boys letting the rivals off the hooks.
