The Tamil Nadu government effected a major reshuffle in the police force late on Monday evening. Prominent among those to be moved out was the high-profile Kancheepuram Superintendent of Police K. Premkumar, who was coordinating the Sankara Mutt-related cases. Premkumar has been posted as SP, Crime Branch CID-III, Chennai. It may be recalled that the chief investigating officer in the Mutt cases, Additional DSP S.P. Sakthivel, was last month promoted and transferred as Superintendent of Police, Enforcement Wing, Chennai.
The Greater Chennai Pulianthope Deputy Commissioner R. Samuthirapandi is the new Kancheepuram Superintendent of Police.
