MUMBAI, January 12: Yet another tussle over names has begun with the decision of the Union Government to rename Kurla Terminus as Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. Gurudas Kamat, Lok Sabha member from Mumbai North-East, met Union Home Minister L K Advani and submitted a memorandum asking that the terminus be named after Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

He urged the Railway and Home Ministry to consider the demand and name it after Dr Ambedkar, respecting the wishes of people of the area.

Kamat maintained Naik’s argument that commuters get confused with the same-sounding Kurla railway station and the Kurla Terminus did not stand because the railway station adjoining Kurla Terminus has been named Tilak Nagar station two years ago.
