Investigators looking at UK terror accused Kafeel Ahmed’s links in India have from e-mail records of the Bangalore engineer found that he had applied for jobs in many Indian companies, including software major Infosys, around 2003.
The job application to Infosys made soon after Kafeel returned from Ireland with qualifications as an aeronautical engineer from Queen’s University in Belfast was forwarded through a friend of Kafeel, but was apparently rejected, sources said.
“Records show he applied to many companies. We don’t know why he was rejected or why did he not take up some of the offers,” police sources said. Infosys human resources director T V Mohandas Pai said he did not know of any application made to the company by Kafeel.
According to the police, Kafeel returned to the UK in 2004 to pursue a PhD in computational fluid dynamics and came back to India in late 2005 and joined IT services company Infotech Enterprises in December 2005.
The email records also indicate that Kafeel sent and received mails and pictures on local communal flare-ups. Sources said attempts were also on to crack the identities of an online chat group Kafeel was an active part of.
