Singapore, December 8: The warning sign about crocodiles on the course was serious news as the three-ball of tournament leader Hendrik Buhrmann, Amandeep Johl and Dominique Boulet discovered during the second round of the Singapore Open 2000 underway at the Singapore Island Country Club.

On his way to a brilliant, bogey-free 66, Hendrik felt that the rather large monitor lizard by the side of their tee on the third hole was more like a crocodile. As if in acknowledgement, the large beast wagged it’s tail, yawned and dived into the stream, out of sight.

Buhrmann started with birdies on the first, second and third to make the turn at three-under-par. He then birdied the 13th, 16th and 17th fo his bogey free 66.

Three shots behind Hendrick are Ted Purdy and Ahmed Bateman at 135, nine-under-par for the tournament. However, the news of the day was Jyoti Randhawa’s 64, which took him to third place after a 72 yesterday.

He is tied with Amandeep Johl who shot another consistent 68. He eagled the second, which, he said, `got me going. Even though I didn’t hit the ball good, I made up for a bad shot with a good one. I just kept my mind good.”

He then went on to birdie the fourth, seventh, 11th, dropped a shot on the 13th and then made up with birdies on the 16th, and 17th dropping the final shot of the day on the par-three 18th.

Meanwhile, Ajun Atwal had a mediocre day carding a 70 to take his two-day total to six-under and remain at ninth place. A Herculean effort by Vivek Bhandari saw him make the cut, which was applied at level par, 144. He started with birdies on the first, second, fourth and fifth on his way to a 68 today, which took his two-day total to 144.
