MUMBAI, June 12: Principal Sessions Judge A S Aguiar today visited the spot in Ballard Estate where Javed Fawda, a prime accused in cassette king Gulshan Kumar's murder, was killed in a police encounter on August 26, 1997. Judge Aguiar heads a commission of enquiry that is looking into charges that the man killed was a peanut vendor, Abu Sayama, who had nothing to do with Gulshan Kumar's killing. He is also examining charges that dreaded criminals Sada Pawle and Vijay Tandel too were killed in staged encounters by the police.Accompanying the judge were Mumbai Police Counsels Shrikant Bhat and Suresh Gholkar, Counsel for Samajwadi Party, Abbas Kazmi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (detection), K L Prasad and a host of other police officials.The judge, who arrived at the spot little past 4.00 pm, surveyed the area for around 15-20 minutes. He was helped by Shrikant Bhat who recreated the scene with the help of maps and photographs. With the judge's visit to the spot the Fawda part of the inquiry has beencompleted.The judge will next visit the spot where Sada Pawle and Vijay Tandel were gunned down on by officers of Nagpada police station on September 26, 1997. The judge is scheduled to visit the spot on June 17, 1998 and will then submit his report to the High Court.
