MUMBAI, June 12: City lads Awish Jaiswal and Rohan Bhappu have opted out from the selection trials here to pick the Indian team for the August 1-15 World Junior squash tournament at Princeton in New Jersey.

Jaiswal is suffering from malaria and had to pull out while the Singapore-based Bhappu fell sick on the first day of the trials on June 8 because of suspected food poisoning and withdrew from the fight to grab three places.

The withdrawal of these two players has reduced the field to seven. The players taking part in the trials, set to conclude on June 14 at the Bombay Gymkhana, are the Juneja brothers – Gaurav and Rohan, Bikram Uberoi, Parth Doshi, Abhijit Kukreja, Amitpal Kohli (all Mumbai) and Arjun Krishnan (Chennai).
