Members of Parliament or Legislative Assemblies who are lodged in different jails can exercise their franchise in the forthcoming presidential election if they get parole from courts. Arrangements will also be made to facilitate voting by MPs and MLAs who are admitted in hospitals. These issues came up for discussion between Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi and CEC N Gopalaswami on Thursday. Dasmunsi had gone to seek clarification about the arrangements being made for MPs and MLAs under “special circumstances”.
