Moving for the first time beyond the kingpin Sabeena and the minor victim in the case, the J-K High Court on Friday directed the CBI to record the statement of “two other girls” involved. The CBI was ordered to record their statements before the Principal District Judge of Pulwama, Abdul Wahid, in the wake of the illness of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Anantnag, who had been assigned for the purpose.The court listed the case for hearing during the vacations which start from June 10. “In view of the urgency and importance of the case we direct listing of the during vacations on 19.6.2006,” the order said.However, even four days after the arrest warrant was issued against him, Anil Sethi, the former Additional Advocate General, who has been named by the minor victim, is still to surrender. “Though there was word that he (Sethi) would surrender today, he didn’t turn up,” sources said adding “In fact we have even zeroed in on his hideout and he could soon be in CBI net.” DIG of BSF, K S Padhi, has been arrested after he surrendered on June 7. The order also refers to certain “important steps” which the CBI has told the court it is contemplating to take. “We direct that effective steps be taken in this behalf and report about the same be submitted,” the order said. Sources told The Indian Express, that CBI was “expecting a big fish” in the days to come and the efforts were going on “at hectic pace” in this direction.
