The recent unexpected heavy rains saw the roof of the Extraordinary Aspire hall leak. As a result, some badminton events scheduled there had to be rescheduled, so they were played on two courts only. The arrangement had to be made because the roof of the Aspire hadn8217;t been fixed after a similar incident earlier when water was dripping on court No. 1 after heavy rain, making it impossible to play because of safety reasons.

Well, Susanthika Jayasinghe, Sri Lanka8217;s best-ever international athlete, will not be missed at the Doha Asian Games after all. She is already in the Qatari capital, reportedly fully recovered from a bout of chikungunya. She will be taking part in the 100m, 200m and also the 4 X 100m relay. Other members of the relay squad are Menaka Wickremasinghe, Pramila Priyadharshini, Geetani Padma Kumari and Chamali Dilrukshi.
Just the other day she was virtually ruled out of the squad, dealing a major blow to the Emerald Isles8217; medal hopes in athletics. However, she has said that she is 8220;100 per cent fit and have come here to run, not to while away my time.8221;
