The managing director of an infotech firm and actor Nana Patekar today filed complaints against each other for assault after a near collision of their cars on the Mumbai-Pune highway.‘‘His behaviour shocked and surprised me,’’ said Utkarsh Morarka (25), MD of Vagus Infocom Services, after lodging a complaint against Patekar with the Deonar police. According to Morarka, nephew of businessman Kamal Morarka of the Morarka Group, Nana allegedly threatened him with a revolver.Patekar, who was recently seen promoting Bt seed to Maharashtra’s farmers, has in turn lodged a counter-complaint with Pune’s Deccan Gymkhana police, saying there was a bid on his life between Sion and Vashi toll naka.Patekar stated in his complaint that he was driving his Lancer to Pune around 4.30 pm on Thursday when two unidentified men in a Scorpio cut lanes and almost hit his car. The actor alleged that this was an attempt to kill him.Recounting the incident in his two-storey bungalow, Morarka said, ‘‘I left home at around 3.30 pm to go to my Navi Mumbai office. I was driving my blue Scorpio and my driver was sitting next to me.’’‘‘We were on Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road when a car travelling towards Navi Mumbai took a sudden left turn to avoid ramming into an autorickshaw,’’ he said. ‘‘To avoid colliding with the car in front of me, I applied brakes. A man inside the car abused me. But I ignored it.’’Morarka claims that when he stopped at Vashi toll naka, he realised the car had followed him. ‘‘A man stepped out, approached me and slapped me. I realised he was Nana Patekar.’’According to Morarka, Nana abused him. ‘‘‘Tum mujhe nahin jaante’ he shouted and pulled out a revolver threatening to kill me,’’ he said, ‘‘but I kept mum.’’Mumbai’s DCP (Zone VI) H.V. Deshbhartar said Patekar is charged under Sections 323, 504 and 506 (2) of the IPC and certain sections of the Arms Act. Investigations have been transferred to the Deonar police.
