MUMBAI, Jan 2: The Bombay High Court has asked Maharashtra government to issue a proper notification in respect of increase of toll charges for vehicles entering and leaving Mumbai, before imposing it. The revised charges were effective from today.A division Bench comprising of Justice A D Mane and Justice A Radhakrishnan said that a status quo be maintained in respect of the toll charged, and the government should issue a proper notification, before hiking the toll.The judges gave the direction following a writ petition filed by plot owners association, Navi Mumbai Merchants Association, Navi Mumbai Action Committee and other traders' unions.Advocate S A Bhalwal who appeared on behalf of the complainants said that till the State government issues a notification it will charge only the prevailing earlier rates.
