MUMBAI, October 22: A fine century by Iqbal Khan and his 91-run partnership with Mandar Sane for the eighth wicket helped Sun-Grace (Mafatlal) score 364 against Air-India on the second day of the three day Division A Times Shield cricket tournament at MIG ground, Bandra.

At draw of stumps, Air-India were 91 for three after being 42 for three at one stage.

Sun-Grace, resuming at 224 for five, lost two quick wickets before Iqbal and Sane came together. Iqbal’s knock of 116 had two sixes and 14 fours off 206 balls while Sane hit eight boundaries in his 46.

Leg spinner Narendra Hirwani, who was unsuccessful on the first day, took three for 141. At close, Sanjay Manjrekar (28) and Nandan Phadnis (20) were at the wicket.

A 164-run partnership for the third wicket between left hander Jatin Paranjpe and Amol Muzumdar enabled debutant Elf Lubricants to finish the second day at 281 for five in reply to Tata’s 257 at Elf Vengsarkar Academy ground, Oval.

Paranjpe’s 73 was studded with two sixes and nine fours off 126 balls while Muzumdar faced 116 balls for his 83 which contained 15 hits to the ropes.After the exit of these two, Sairaj Bahutule (batting 50, 4×4) and Zubin Bharucha (26, 3×4) carried the score from 228 to 281 at draw of stumps. Seamers Agarkar and Surendra Bhave took two wickets each.
